Actor JP Reddy, also known as JP, is all set to present a story that he believes will resonate with anyone who has made the transition from a village to the city in pursuit of better education. The film, titled Karki, serves as Tamil director Pavitran's debut project in Kannada cinema. In anticipation of the upcoming release, JP emphasizes the film's exploration of significant themes such as caste dynamics and the fundamental right to education. However, embodying the character posed a considerable challenge for the actor. Reflecting on the process, JP recalls initial doubts about his ability to portray the role effectively. Despite being a city dweller, he underwent a transformation in both physical appearance and demeanor to authentically portray a local character. Shedding 6 kilos through dieting and forgoing exercise, he limited his wardrobe to just four shirts purchased from Gurjari market in Shivajinagar for the duration of filming. JP emphasizes the importance of immersing oneself in a character to deliver a convincing performance, noting that such commitment is essential for actors.
